Bakersfield Blitz News Release

Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Blitz of the af2 are back in first place in the West Division, and will return to action this weekend at Centennial Garden. The Blitz (4-2) and Memphis Xplorers (3-3) get set for a 7:00pm kickoff, with the Garden doors opening at 6:00pm.

The Blitz will celebrate one of Bakersfield's own with Steve Wofford replica giveaway jerseys this Saturday. The first 2,000 children 12 and under will pick up a jersey, sponsored by KGET-TV 17, K-Lite 105.3 and ADT Security Services. Wofford is currently on the injured reserve list, and although he is eligible to come off by this weekend, he is not expected in the lineup. He's second on the team in catches and receiving yards and leads the team in kickoff returns and return yardage.

Bakersfield is back in first place after a 39-36 victory over the San Diego Riptide at Centennial Garden. Brian Walker's 34-yard field goal as time expired snapped a tie and gave the Blitz their third win in as many games at home. They moved into a tie atop the West Division with the Hawai'i Islanders.

Felemi, who attended Baker College in Kansas, will make his debut in arena football with the Blitz. Also, DS Elton Seals was removed from the Injured Reserve and placed on re-assignment.
