Niagara IceDogs News Release
Freddie Hamilton extended his point streak to 19 games although the Niagara IceDogs suffered a 5-2 loss to the Erie Otters Friday night.
Darren Archibald and Steven Shipley scored Niagara's goals, while Hamilton, along with Jason Wilson and Jesse Graham recorded assists.
The IceDogs first goal came short-handed as Darren Archibald put home his 30th of the year with the help of Freddie Hamilton to make it 1-0 late in the first.
Erie then scored two goals early in the second period, one on a power play to put them up 2-1.
Steven Shipley followed up in the latter half of the frame with his second goal in as many nights to tie things up heading into the second intermission.
The Otters came out hard in front of their home crowd in the third as they scored three unanswered goals - one on the empty net to give them a 5-2 victory over the IceDogs in Erie.
The IceDogs will return to action Sunday afternoon as they head into an important battle against the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors at 2 p.m. The game will be available live on TVCogeco, The OHL Action Pack and 105.1 The River.
