Sussex Skyhawks News Release
In front of a capacity crowd at Skylands Park the Skyhawks put on quite a show for the home crowd. All year long the Skyhawks have been struggling to score runs, however tonight they may have discovered their biggest offensive threat, Alex Frazier. Frazier had two 3 run home runs as well as a 2 run double, to drive in all 8 of the Skyhawk runs on the night, as they defeated the Brockton Rox 8-4.
With his monster night, Alex Frazier set the Skyhawks record for most RBIs in a game (8) and the record for most total bases as well (10). After Skyhawks starter Ryan Lobban gave up a three run home run in the 1st to Francisco Lebron, Lobban settled down and was effective going 6 innings, allowing 4 runs and striking out 7 batters. Frazier responded to Lebron's dinger with a home run of his own that tied the score at 3 at piece through one inning of play. Frazier however, was not the lone offensive star as Ron Perodin had 4 hits and scored 3 runs.
Brian Rios also chipped in on the offensive effort, going 3-4 and scoring 3 runs. The Skyhawks hope that tonight will be enough momentum to turn their season around. Come check out the Skyhawks on Wednesday night with first pitch set for 6:35 and another massive fireworks show to follow the game. Mike McTamney (1-4) will get the ball for the Rox and Vince Davis (2-3) will be on the mound for the Skyhawks,as they look win the series against the Brockton Rox.
