FRAZIER, BROWN SEND SKYHAWKS TO 9-7 WIN

AUGUSTA, N.J. - *Alex Frazier and Chris Brown each drove in three runs as the Sussex Skyhawks outlasted the New Jersey Jackals 9-7 on Friday night at Skylands Park.

Sussex starter Kyle Ruwe gave up six runs on eight hits over 6.2 innings to earn his tenth win of the season. Matt Petrusek pitched the final four outs to pick up his 16^th save. Aaron Tressler took the loss for the Jackals.

The Skyhawks trailed by one early, but got on the board in the bottom of the third when they loaded the bases on two singles and a walk. With a full count and two outs, the runners were in motion as Brown lined a double into the gap in left center, clearing the bases and giving Sussex a 3-1 lead. Frazier then bounced a ground rule double over the fence in right center, scoring Brown from second to put the Skyhawks ahead 4-1.

The Jackals cut the Sussex lead to 5-4 in the top of the fifth on back-to-back RBI singles by Juan Tejeda and Luke Allen, but the Skyhawks blew the game open in the bottom of the sixth with back-to-back solo home runs by Jorge Moreno and Matt Weston. Frazier added a two run double to extend the Sussex lead to 9-4.

The Jackals and Skyhawks return to action at Skylands Park on Saturday at 5 p.m. for the second game of the three game series. The final game will be played on Sunday at 2 p.m.
