Cape Breton Eagles News Release

Sydney - The Cape Breton Screaming Eagles announced details today for their 4th annual "Battle of Nova Scotia" event with the Halifax Mooseheads. The two teams will play each other on December 28th in Sydney, and on December 29th in Halifax. Both teams will wear Nova Scotia themed jerseys for this event.

The Screaming Eagles are asking fans to bring a non-perishable food item to their game on December 28th in support of FEED Nova Scotia. For each food item a fan brings to the game, they will receive a ballot for a chance to win one of the 20 Nova Scotia themed jerseys. The jerseys for the Screaming Eagles have been donated by Molson. The names of the jersey winners will be revealed on the Screaming Eagles website in January.

"We're really excited to take part in this rivalry between the Mooseheads and Screaming Eagles," said Dianne Swinemar, Executive Director of FEED Nova Scotia. "It's a fun way for people to get involved and a great way to help feed hungry families."

About FEED Nova Scotia: Hunger affects 40,000 Nova Scotians each month and knows no barriers. It affects children, mothers, fathers, grandparents, people with fulltime jobs, people on social assistance, people in rural areas, and people in urban centres. FEED Nova Scotia is a charitable organization that both helps feed hungry people by collecting and distributing food to 153 member agency food banks and meal programs throughout the province, and strives to eliminate chronic hunger and poverty through research, awareness and support programs.
