Waterloo Black Hawks News Release
The Waterloo Black Hawks picked up their first win at the Icebox in Lincoln since April of 2005, edging the Stars 3-2 in overtime Friday.
Lee Moffie delivered his second goal of the night 1:09 into the extra time, scoring on a rebound during a power play. Parker Milner made 35 saves in the Black Hawks net.
The Hawks first took the lead when J.T. Brown stripped a puck in the Lincoln zone to create a scoring chance with 2:51 remaining in the opening period. Moffie made it 2-0 finishing a power play feed from Craig Smith at 2:07 of the second.
Lincoln rallied with a special teams goal of their own from Eric Melund's stick at 7:40 of the second. Less than six minutes later, Chris Forfar tied the game on a breakaway.
Waterloo visits the archrival Cedar Rapids Rough Riders Saturday at 7:05.
