Four Spirit Players Called up to Andonovski's First USWNT Camp

Boyds, Md. - United States Women's National Team head coach Vlatko Andonovski has announced his roster for the USWNT's Nov. 7 and Nov. 10 friendlies. Washington Spirit representatives Aubrey Bledsoe, Rose Lavelle, Andi Sullivan and Mallory Pugh were all named to the USWNT roster.

Bledsoe received her first-ever USWNT call up after back-to-back standout performances in the NWSL and the W-League. The Spirit goalkeeper was named 2018-2019 W-League Goalkeeper of the year and then went on to become the 2019 NWSL Goalkeeper of the Year this past season.

In addition to her Goalkeeper of the Year award, Bledsoe was also named to the 2019 NWSL Best XI, which included eight other members of the USWNT. Bledsoe will look to earn her first cap for the USWNT during the friendlies.

Lavelle has become an essential part of the USWNT midfield, as displayed in the 2019 World Cup. The Spirit midfielder scored three goals during the World Cup, including the final goal of the Championship that sealed a victory for the USWNT.

The 24-year-old Cincinnati native has made 36 appearances for the USWNT, and has recorded 10 goals and five assists. Lavelle was also named to the 2019 NWSL Best XI.

Sullivan has recently worked her way into the USWNT rotation. The Washington Spirit Captain earned her first USWNT appearance in October of 2016, but she had to work her way back after sustaining an ACL tear in November of 2016.

The Spirit midfielder has made 13 appearances for the USWNT and accounted for two assists. The 2018 NWSL 1st overall draft pick most recently made a USWNT appearance during the final two matches of the team's World Cup Victory Tour.

As a 21-year-old, Pugh has already become a veteran member of the USWNT roster. She already has 60 USWNT appearances to her name and has contributed 18 goals and 16 assists to the squad.

Pugh was the youngest player to debut for the national team at 17 years old in 2016. The Spirit forward also accounted for one goal and one assist en route to the USWNT's World Cup victory.
