Utah Royals FC Duo Named to USWNT Roster

SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC FW Christen Press and DF Becky Sauerbrunn have been named to the United States Women's National Team roster ahead of a pair of friendlies against Sweden and Costa Rica on November 7 and 10, respectively.

The call-up is the first under recently-appointed Head Coach Vlatko Andonovski, who previously coached Sauerbrunn from 2013-17 with the former FC Kansas City.

Press currently has 49 goals and 30 assists in 123 appearances and Sauerbrunn has seven assists in 164 appearances.

The duo recently finished up their second season in Utah with the National Women's Soccer League. In 14 games Press scored eight goals and added two assists, meanwhile Sauerbrunn netted one goal and contributed to six clean sheets. For their play this season they were both recognized on the NWSL Best XI, while Sauerbrunn was named NWSL Defender of the Year.
