OSC Weekly Ratings Wrapup

by David Carlson
October 31, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)

Strong West Coast MLS playoff game, NWSL Championship barely ripples

The National Women's Soccer League held its championship game Sunday, and like many other sporting events, they got a fairly poor rating going up against the buzz-saw of NFL football. While it did make the Top 150 Cable Originals for Sunday, the 166,000 viewers are likely less than it could have drawn holding its championship sometime in August, instead of September and October as it has the past two years.

Major League Soccer had a good doubleheader on ESPN networks on Thursday, starting with slightly over 300,000 watching the Atlanta vs. Philly contest, followed with a growing audience that exploded up to 586,000 once the second game switched over to ESPN.
