
Four Homers Crack Nuts in 6-4 Loss

Visalia, CA. - Kyle Freeland surrendered four homers in the Modesto Nuts 6-4 loss against the Visalia Rawhide on Tuesday night at Recreation Park.
Daniel Palka put the Rawhide (73-48; 31-20) on the board first with a two-run shot in the first. After the Nuts (62-59; 29-22) took a one-run lead in the second, Alex Glenn cracked a solo homer to tie the game. The Nuts took another lead in the sixth before Kevin Cron clubbed the go-ahead, two-run shot that gave the Rawhide the lead for good. Tyler Baker added a solo shot in the seventh. Freeland (L, 1-1) went seven innings and allowed six runs on nine hits with one walk and three strikeouts.
Blake Perry (W, 9-4) worked 6.1 innings allowing eight hits and four runs while striking out six and walking two. Raimel Tapia drove in a pair of runs in the second. Wilson Soriano recorded a RBI single. Dillon Thomas had a double.
Steve Hathaway (S, 1/4) tossed a perfect ninth for the Rawhide.
The Nuts will try to avoid the sweep in the finale of the three-game series on Wednesday night in Visalia. First pitch is at 7:00 p.m. Coverage on ModestoNuts.com will start at 7:00 p.m.
