Lancaster JetHawks News Release

LANCASTER, Calif. - The JetHawks produced a six-run rally in the fourth inning and added late insurance runs en route to an 8-4 win over the Inland Empire 66ers on Tuesday night at The Hangar.

Sean McMullen went 3-for-4 with two runs scored for the JetHawks (62-59), and Ronnie Mitchell led the way with three runs batted in, including his 12th home run of the season.

Austin Chrismon (6-3) received the win, allowing four runs (three earned) over six innings of work. The right-hander struck out three and began the game by retiring the first nine batters he faced.

Trailing 1-0 entering the bottom of the fourth, the JetHawks took the lead on a six-run rally against Victor Alcantara (6-11). Chase McDonald drew a leadoff walk, and Mitchell gave Lancaster a 2-1 lead with a two-run homer to right field. Jamie Ritchie singled and later scored on a wild pitch, and Marc Wik plated another run on a groundout. The inning's final two tallies came via a James Ramsay RBI-triple and an Alex Bregman sacrifice fly.

Despite giving up six runs on seven hits and three walks, Alcantara lasted six innings for the 66ers (58-62) before yielding to the bullpen.

Inland Empire cut the JetHawks' lead to two runs in the seventh. Eric Aguilera led off with a home run, and consecutive triples by Brandon Bayardi and Kody Eaves brought the 66ers within three. After hitting Andrew Daniel with a pitch, Chrismon exited with none out in the inning, and Roberto Baldoquin grounded out to shortstop to plate a run against reliever Michael Freeman.

Lancaster, however, added insurance runs in both the seventh and eighth innings against Eduardo Paredes on a Mitchell RBI-double and a Ramsay RBI-single. Freeman tossed 2.2 scoreless innings before Andrew Walter recorded the game's final out in the ninth.

The JetHawks will aim for the series sweep on Wednesday with first pitch scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The JetHawks will send Akeem Bostick (4-4, 5.89) to the mound against the 66ers' Ryan Etsell (7-3, 3.69).
