January 4, 2019 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
FC Dallas News Release
Frisco, Texas - FC Dallas Homegrowns Jesus Ferreira, Paxton Pomykal, Brandon Servania have been called into the January U-20 National Team Camp, while Homegrown Thomas Roberts has been called into the U-19s camp running concurrently.
North Texas Soccer Club forward Ricardo Pepi and FC Dallas U-17 Academy midfielder Cesar Garcia have also received call-ups to the U-17 National Team by head coach Dave Van den Bergh.
All six players will report to Premier Sports Campus in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. from Jan. 4-13.
Pomykal and Servania were part of the U-20 squad that won their second straight Concacaf U-20 title after defeating Mexico 2-0 in the final on Nov. 21. Pomykal scored three goals in eight games and Servania scored two goals in six games throughout the three-week tournament.
Ferreira earns his first call-up to the U-20 National Team camp and just his second call-up ever to the U.S. program. The 18-year-old holds dual eligibility for both the U.S. and Colombian federations.
Roberts gets his first call-up to the U-19s since Aug. 2018, where he participated in International Friendlies against United Arab Emirates, Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Japan. He scored the first goal in the 5-0 defeat against Bulgaria on Aug. 22.
Pepi is the only player born in 2003 to be called into the U-17 team. North Texas SC's inaugural signing appeared in all three games as the youngest member of the U-17s at the 2018 Nike Friendlies in November, scoring the game-winner in a 1-0 result over Turkey. He has scored 19 goals in eight appearances for the U-17 FC Dallas Academy team in 2018.
Garcia has appeared in 12 games and scored three goals during the 2018-2019 season for the U-17 Academy team. Garcia is eligible to compete in the 2019 Concacaf U-17 Championship and the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
