Sounders FC 2019 Preseason Opens January 22 at Starfire Sports

SEATTLE, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC today unveiled the full schedule for its 2019 preseason, including training camps in Orange County, California and Tucson, Arizona. Currently, the club is scheduled to play a select number of preseason matches, including a Cascadia clash with the Portland Timbers on February 13 at Tucson's Kino Sports Complex.

The club's first day of official 2019 training is being held Tuesday, January 22 at the club's Starfire Sports practice facility in Tukwila, with fans able to watch the Rave Green train for the first time this year. Specific training times and media access windows are being announced at a later date.

After training at Starfire Sports from January 22-23, Brian Schmetzer's squad heads down to Orange County for 10 days of training camp from January 24-February 2 at Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, California.

The club then returns to Seattle for a brief stint before traveling to Tucson on Wednesday, February 6 for 11 days in Arizona. While in Tucson, Sounders FC is scheduled to play three preseason fixtures, facing the Houston Dynamo (February 9), Portland Timbers (February 13) and FC Dallas (February 16), all at Kino Sports Complex. Other preseason matches will be announced in the coming weeks.

Prior to the start of camp, Sounders FC begins its preparations for the 2019 campaign with the adidas MLS Player Combine in Orlando from January 3-9 ahead of the first two rounds of the 2019 MLS SuperDraft on Friday, January 11. Seattle currently holds the 20th pick in the first round and the 44th overall pick in the second round.

Sounders FC is set to begin its 11th campaign with a home match on Saturday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. PT against expansion side FC Cincinnati at CenturyLink Field. The complete regular season schedule, along with the national television schedules for the United States and Canada, is being announced this month. Tickets for the home opener, along with other Sounders FC 2019 home matches are available exclusively through Sounders FC Season Ticket Memberships.
