Baltimore Blast News Release

Baltimore, MD - The Major Indoor Soccer League announced today the players selected to receive All-MISL First Team and Second Team honors for the 2005-06 MISL regular season. Blast forwards Adauto Neto and Giuliano Celenza were chosen to represent Baltimore on the All-MISL First Team and newly named head coach Danny Kelly and goalkeeper Sagu were named to the All-MISL Second Team.

"I am very happy for the Blast players who received these individual awards," said Blast General Manager Kevin Healey. "Each of these players, along with others, were instrumental in helping us win the MISL Championship."

Neto, the second leading scorer in the MISL, led the Blast with 58 points in his first season in Baltimore. He was named to the MISL All-Rookie Team in 2004 and made his All-MISL debut this season. Celenza, Baltimore's second-leading scorer, led the MISL with 38 goals this season. He recorded 46 points and ranked fifth overall in the MISL.

Danny Kelly, who was recently named the Blast's head coach, led Baltimore's defenders with 22 points and added 11 blocks on the season. Kelly was named interim head coach of the team with five games remaining and went on to lead the team to its third MISL Championship in four years. Sagu, the Blast's starting goalkeeper, went 15-9 on the season en route to his first All-MISL selection. Sagu led the MISL with a .718 save percentage and ranked second in the MISL in wins (15), saves (300) and goals against average (5.02).

The MISL postseason awards were voted on by MISL member teams' management and selected members of the media from each city. Each voter was asked to select one goalkeeper, three forwards/midfielder and two defenders for each team. A first-team vote was worth two points and a second-team vote was worth one point. The MISL Coach of the Year will be announced tomorrow with additional MISL awards to follow next week.

The Baltimore Blast defeated the St. Louis Steamers two-games-to-one to win the 2006 MISL Championship. The team will host more than 20 sessions of Baltimore Blast Summer Soccer Camp during the next three months before starting training camp for the 2006-07 season in the fall.
