KiXX Defender Josh Rife Selected to All-MISL Rookie Team

Philadelphia, PA, May 22, 2006 - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced on May 19 that defender Josh Rife was selected to the All-MISL Rookie team following a formal voting process that polled members of the media, as well as MISL coaches and team personnel from throughout the League. Voters were asked to select three forward/midfielders, two defenders and one goalkeeper for the squad.

A native of Honolulu, Hawaii, Rife proved a durable, stay-at-home defender during his rookie season in Philadelphia. The product of Indiana University recorded 14 blocks from the backline, while adding six goals, including a game winner, and one assist for seven points in 25 contests.

Rife appeared in 20 games with the Charlotte Eagles last season and was a solid presence in the backline of the 2005 championship squad. For his performance, the 25-year-old defender was named the USL Second Division Defensive Player of the Year. Rife is currently competing in his fourth season with Charlotte.

The MISL also announced that Figueroa was selected the League's Rookie of the Year, joining most recent honoree and KiXX forward John Barry Nusum (2005). A complete scheduled of MISL postseason award announcements is available at www.misl.net.

The Philadelphia KiXX are a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), a single-entity organization that features a coast-to-coast presence across the United States. The club completed their 10th season of play in 2005-06 at the Wachovia Spectrum located in Philadelphia, PA. The team also operates the Philadelphia KiXX Summer Kamp program, which is offered to boys and girls, ages four to 18, from mid-June through August throughout the Tri-State area.
