Local Product Pat Morris Named to All-MISL First Team

Philadelphia, PA, February 28, 2006 - The Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) announced today that Philadelphia KiXX defender Pat Morris has earned All-MISL First Team recognition for his performance throughout the 2005-06 season. Morris was joined on the squad by Brett Phillips and Genoni Martinez of the St. Louis Steamers, Milwaukee Wave's Greg Howes, and Giuliano Celenza and Adauto Neto of the 2005-06 MISL Champion Baltimore Blast. The selections are the results of a formal voting process that polled members of the media, as well as MISL coaches and team personnel.

Morris received his fifth All-League honor and the third consecutive First Team selection of his seven-year career. Selected to his fourth consecutive All-Star game, the Northeast Catholic product continues to establish himself as one of the League's premier defenders both on the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Morris recorded a team-high 25 points (16 goals, nine assists) and finished third in the MISL with 31 blocks.

The 2005 MISL Defender of the Year, who has recorded more than 250 points and 400 blocks, posted a career-best four-goal performance versus the Milwaukee Wave on February 25. Morris connected on the game's final four scores including the game winner at 2:39 of overtime to snap Philadelphia's franchise-worst nine-game losing streak. For his performance, he was named the League's Defensive Player of the Week (POW) for the seven-day period ending February 26 and the Defensive Player of the Month (POM) for the month of February. He has now received three POM honors as well as nine POW accolades in his career.

The League previously announced the MISL All-Rookie Team, which included KiXX newcomer Josh Rife, Vicente Figueroa, Ronnie Ekelund and Dominik Jakubek of the California Cougars and the Chicago Storm's Denny Clanton and Gus Kartes; Figueroa was selected the League's Rookie of the Year. The Philadelphia KiXX are a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), a single-entity organization that features a coast-to-coast presence across the United States. The club completed their 10th season of play in 2005-06 at the Wachovia Spectrum located in Philadelphia, PA. The team also operates the Philadelphia KiXX Summer Kamp program, which is offered to boys and girls, ages four to 18, from mid-June through August throughout the Tri-State area.
