Forward Tyler McNeely Loaned to Lake Erie

North Charleston, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, celebrating 20 seasons of hockey in the Lowcountry and proud ECHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that forward Tyler McNeely has been called up to the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL).

McNeely, 25, leads the Stingrays and is 12 in the ECHL with 44 points (13 goals, 31 assists) in 41 games. Earlier this season, the Burnaby, British Columbia, native skated in four games with the Providence Bruins (AHL) adding one assist. In 80 career AHL contests, with the Bruins and the Bridgeport Sound Tigers, he has 33 points (14 goals, 19 assists). On Tuesday, McNeely was named the ECHL Player of the Week after netting four goals and six assist for ten points and was a +4 in three games.

Prior to turning pro, McNeely totaled 105 points (44g-61a) in 142 career games at Northeastern University.

The Stingrays are back in action Friday, February 1 against the Gwinnett Gladiators at 7:35 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia and return to the North Charleston Coliseum on Friday, February 8 to host the Evansville IceMen for the first time in team history at 7:05 p.m. Friday is Nerd-Con featuring the Carolina Garrison! Characters from the classic move "Star Wars" will be walking the concourse.
