
Thunder Hosts "Hockey with Heart" on Friday

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," announced that "Hockey With Heart" presented by BloodSource with StoneCreek Village, Food-4-Less & Rancho San Miguel Markets, 99.3 KJOY, 97.7/98.3 KWIN and KAT Country 103 is returning to Stockton Arena on Friday, Feb. 1 in a 7:30 p.m. game against the Idaho Steelheads.
An annual event to help raise awareness and funds for heart health, the Thunder will bring back several promotions and concourse attractions designed to involve fans of all ages throughout the evening.
"Hockey with Heart is a chance for the Thunder to partner with the American Heart Association in an effort to help increase awareness about heart related issues," said Thunder manager of marketing and business development Melissa Piffero. "Heart disease kills more people than all cancers combined and through this event we are able to help educate our fans to make better heart choices."
All fans in attendance are encouraged to wear red for the game to promote "National Wear Red Day" and help launch the "Go Red for Women" and American Heart Month" movements. The first 1,000 fans (ages 18 and over) will receive a red Thunder t-shirt to commemorate the event.
In addition, Go Red Passport Cards will also be given to the first 1,000 fans (ages 18 and over) at the game, encouraging fans to visit sponsor tables hosted by BloodSource, HERLIFE Magazine, MetroPCS, StoneCreek Village, Eco Chic Salon, Mary Kay, Fritz Chin Photography, H&R Block, St. Joseph's Medical Center and more.
Fans can collect stamps on the passport cards and be entered to win several special prizes throughout the night, such as:

To support "Hockey With Heart," a blood and bone marrow drive will be hosted by SMG-Stockton and in conjunction with BloodSource on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Stockton Arena. The blood and bone marrow drive is open to the public and all donors will receive a free ticket voucher good for admission to an upcoming Thunder game.
