Forward Caleb Herbert Reassigned to South Carolina

HERSHEY, Pa. - The Hershey Bears announced today that forward Caleb Herbert has been reassigned to the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays. The announcement was made by Bears President/General Manager Doug Yingst.

Herbert, 24, has been with the Bears since the beginning of the season, dressing in 23 games and recording two assists.

The 6-0, 195-pound native of Bloomington, Minnesota spent the majority of the 2014-15 campaign with the Stingrays. Herbert registered 28 points (19 goals, nine assists) in 42 regular-season games, and added 14 points (three goals, 11 assists) as an integral part of the Rays' Eastern Conference Championship squad. He also earned 12 games with the Bears and posted two assists.

Herbert has a total of seven points (two goals, five assists) in 42 regular-season games with Hershey. He originally joined the club at the conclusion of his third year at the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2014.  With the Bulldogs, he amassed 89 points (32 goals, 57 assists) and led the club in assists and points in his final season.

Herbert was selected by the Washington Capitals in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
