Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have recalled defenseman Viktor Svedberg from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Svedberg, 24, has tallied three points (1G, 2A) in 16 games with the Blackhawks this season since making his National Hockey League debut on Oct. 9 at the New York Islanders. The Gothenburg, Sweden, native has posted 10 points (1G, 9A) in 30 games with Rockford this year. Svedberg has recorded 33 points (6G, 27A) in 114 career regular-season games with the IceHogs across three seasons (2013-16) and added four assists in eight 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs games. He was originally signed as a free agent on Oct. 19, 2013.

Next Home Game: Sunday, Feb. 14 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins at 4 p.m. Rockford and Grand Rapids meet again for a 4 p.m. matinee matchup on Valentine's Day. The IceHogs will look to bounce back from a regulation and overtime loss to the Griffins on Feb. 5 and 6.
