Forward Beca Returns from Charlotte of the AHL

ESTERO, FL -- Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Greg Poss announced today that forward Matt Beca has been returned to the Everblades by the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League.

Beca went scoreless in one game played for the Checkers during his recent call-up. Beca posted 20 points (9g, 11a) during the month of the December, while currently leading the Blades in scoring with 28 points (10g, 18a). Last season the 5-10, 181-pound forward registered a 50 points season scoring 22 goals and 28 assists.

In 2010, the Mississauga, Ontario native appeared in five games with the Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League scoring one goal, following his four year at Clarkson University.

Beca is expected to be in the lineup on Wednesday when the Everblades play host to the the Chicago Express beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Germain Arena. The game will feature $2 drafts, $2 wines, $2 hot dogs all night long! Ladies may receive free admission to the game by presenting their college I.D. to the Capital Bank Box Office at Germain Arena. The two teams will meet again on Friday the 13th and Saturday the 14th at Germain Arena.
