
Fort Wayne Takes Down Wisconsin Thanks to Strong Shooting Night

OSHKOSH, Wisc. - The Fort Wayne Mad Ants defeated the Wisconsin Herd, 122-115, at the Menominee Nation Arena in Oshkosh on Wednesday night.
Fort Wayne guard Edmond Sumner provided the bulk of his team's scoring against the Herd, finishing with a game-high 35 points -- 21 of those coming in the first half. The two-way player's impressive scoring night was the result of shooting 14 of 19 (73.7 percent) from the field.
Also turning in a solid performance for the Mad Ants was forward Alize Johnson, who was on assignment for the Indiana Pacers. He finished second on the team in scoring with 20 points and grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds.
Fort Wayne's top performer off the bench was forward Ben Moore. His double-double effort was highlighted by his 20-point, 11-rebound performance.
Despite losing the game, the Herd scored their season-high as a team with all five members of the starting lineup finishing with double digits points. They were led in scoring by forward James Young, who poured in 27 points.
Their second-leading scorer, guard Sterling Brown, was one of two players assigned by the Milwaukee Bucks for the game. He finished with 23 points and three steals while the other assignee, forward Christian Wood, scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Fort Wayne's greatest advantage in achieving their third win of the season was their superior night shooting the ball. They converted 53.3 percent of their shots compared to the Herd's 47.8. The Mad Ants also won the rebound battle, notching 51 boards to Wisconsin's 32.
The Mad Ants move to 3-1 on the season, with the Herd dropping to 1-3.
Wisconsin continues their three-game homestand on Nov. 16 against the Capital City Go-Go, while Fort Wayne heads to Maine for their next matchup against the Red Claws the same night.
