
Former Tar-Heel Inks with Monarchs

Kansas City, Kan. -The Kansas City Monarchs have added former University of North Carolina product and Baltimore Orioles prospect OF Dylan Harris prior to the game today against the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Harris will wear #38 and play left field tonight and bat ninth for Kansas City in his Monarchs debut.
Dylan Harris comes to the Monarchs after spending the 2022 with stops between AAA Norfolk and AA Bowie for Baltimore. He played in 38 games at AAA, hitting .115 with three home runs and 14 RBI for the Tides. At AA Bowie, he played in 20 games, hitting .315 with three long balls and nine RBI. Harris was a combined .194 (.194/.306/.355) with six home runs and 23 RBI at both stops this season.
In 2021, Harris played in 49 games at Aberdeen where he hot .224 with three home runs and 17 RBI and another 29 games at low A Delmarva where he would add another homer and 15 RBI to go along with a .224 clip. For the season, Harris hit .224 (.224/..356/.321) with four home runs and 32 RBI.
The Baltimore Orioles signed Harris to a minor league free-agent contract June 20, 2020, after two seasons at the University of North Carolina. In 2019 Harris started every game for the Tar Heels, hitting .268 and finished second on the team in runs scored with 62. He would hit seven home runs and drive in 29 runs in his first year at UNC. In 2020 he played in 19 games and hit .274 with five home runs and 11 RBI. Harris spent two seasons at Walters State in Morristown, Tennessee where he hit .388 in 2018 in 67 games and .444 in 55 games in 2017. Harris is from Knoxville, Tennessee and attended Hardin Valley Academy.
The Monarchs will wrap up their four-game series with the Winnipeg Goldeyes tonight at Legends Field. The game time is set for 7:00 pm and The game can be heard on the Monarchs Broadcast Network with the pre-game beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the video stream airing on aabaseball.tv.
