Former Sundogs Defenseman Sean Sullivan Recalled By Phoenix Coyotes

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The National Hockey League's Phoenix Coyotes announced today that the team has recalled former Sundogs defenseman Sean Sullivan from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.

Sullivan, 25, has recorded two goals, eight assists and six penalty minutes (PIM) in eight games with San Antonio this season. His 10 points lead the Rampage and rank tied-for-third in the AHL. The Boston, Massachusetts, native's recent play earned him AHL Player of the Week honors for the period ending Oct. 11, 2009. In 65 games with San Antonio last season, the 5-foot-10, 190-pound d-man recorded 32 points (9g/23a) and 24 PIM to lead all Rampage defensemen in scoring.

In parts of four seasons with San Antonio, Sullivan has registered 50 points (11g/39a) and 43 PIM in 114 games. He also collected nine goals, 16 assists and 19 PIM in 22 games with the Sundogs during the 2007-08 season. Prior to his professional career, Sullivan played four seasons at Boston University (NCAA), registering 43 points (9g/34a). He was a 2007 Hockey East First-Team All-Star and received the league's Old Time Hockey Best Defensive Defenseman award while also serving as team captain.

Sullivan was selected by the Coyotes in the ninth round (272nd overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
