Former Snapper Josh Murray Wins ABC's "The Bachelorette"
July 29, 2014 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Former Beloit Snapper Josh Murray was announced as the winner of ABC's "The Bachelorette" Monday night, as he proposed to Andi Dorfman. Dorfman chose Murray over Waukesha, WI native Nick Viall in the season finale and accepted Murray's proposal.
Murray, the older brother of former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, played for the Snappers in 2003 and 2004, when the Snappers were affiliated with the Milwaukee Brewers. He was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2002 MLB June Amateur Draft from Tampa Bay Jesuit High School but never made it past the A level of minor league baseball.
In his two seasons in Beloit, Murray appeared in 65 games, batting .163 with four home runs and 19 RBI's. Murray ended his baseball career in 2007 after a stint with the Charlotte County Redfish, an independent team in the South Coast League.
Following his baseball career, Murray attended the University of Tampa before transferring to the University of Georgia, walking on to the football team where Aaron was the starting quarterback. Murray graduated from the Terry College of Business at Georgia and works as a financial services representative in Athens, GA.
Fans can celebrate Murray's engagement at Wednesday night's Snappers game as there will be various "Bachelorette"-themed promotions and giveaways throughout the night!
A dozen roses will be given out throughout the game to a handful of lucky ladies and fans can bring their ticket and mention the Snappers to the First Impressions Salon and Spa in Beloit for 15% off a Cut and Color.
One lucky fan at the end of the night will also win a prize package that includes $20 to Merrill & Houston's Steak Joint and an autographed Josh Murray Snappers baseball card!
Tickets to Wednesday night's game can be purchased by calling the front office at 608-362-2272 or by visiting Pohlman Field at 2301 Skyline Drive.
