
Former Longhorn Ricky Williams to Throw Out Ceremonial First Pitch Friday

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Former University of Texas running back and Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams will be on-hand Friday night, August 23, to throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the Round Rock Express takes on the Oklahoma City RedHawks at 7:05 p.m. at Dell Diamond.
The first-ever two-time Doak Walker award winner as the nation's best running back and recipient of the 1998 Heisman Trophy, Williams was inducted into the University of Texas' Men's Athletics Hall of Honor in 2010. He was also a two-time All-American as a Longhorn and one of only two players in Texas' history to be awarded the Heisman Trophy. Williams' trophy case also includes the 1998 Maxwell Award which honors the nation's most outstanding college football player and the Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year honor. Following his senior season in 1998, Williams was selected with the fifth pick in the 1999 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints.
