
Former Captain Johnny Ludvig Signs Extension with Florida Panthers

Portland, Ore. - The Portland Winterhawks Hockey Club is proud to share that former captain Johnny Ludvig has signed a two-way, two-year contract extension with the Florida Panthers.
Ludvig, 22, played in 70 American Hockey League (AHL) games over the last three seasons, spending the previous two with the Charlotte Checkers. The Kamloops, B.C. native has scored five goals and 20 assists to begin his pro career. The 6-foot-1, 214-pound defenseman recently competed with the Checkers in the 2023 Calder Cup Playoffs and tallied two assists in seven playoff games.
Ludvig previously signed his entry-level contract with the Panthers in 2019 after helping the Winterhawks win a Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy as Western Hockey League regular season champions. Originally selected in the third round of the 2019 NHL Draft, Ludvig produced 87 points in 169 career WHL games with Portland.
