Tulsa Oilers News Release
Records: Oilers are 27-22-4 with 58 points in fourth place in the Northwest Division.
Oklahoma City is 31-20-3 with 65 points in second place in the Northwest Division.
Recent Action: The Oilers snapped a two game losing streak with a big third period in Memphis on Tuesday. Tulsa got three third period goals en route to a 7-4 victory. Oklahoma City comes into the game winless its last three games. The Blazers most recently dropped a 4-3 shootout decision in Colorado on Saturday night.
Season Series: This is the final of 11 meetings between these two teams. Each team has won five times and each game has been decided in regulation time. So tonight's game will determine the winner of this year's Ford Turnpike series. Throughout the series, the teams have alternated wins. The Oilers won the most recent match up, 4-1 in Tulsa on February 21st.
Looooooong Homestand: Tonight starts the Oilers longest homestand of the season. Tulsa plays five straight home games, beginning tonight. Other visitors to the Tulsa Convention Center during this time, will be the Wichita Thunder (March 4); Austin Ice Bats (March 10); Amarillo Gorillas (March 11); and Colorado Eagles (March 17).
Still Rolling: It was a fine February for Oilers center Jim Dahl. He had a point in each of the 13 games the Oilers played and registered eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points and was also a +20 in the month. Dahl leads all rookies in the CHL with 33 goals and 74 points.
Hats Off: Mike Lukajic recorded a hat trick in the Oilers win on Tuesday night at Memphis. That got him back to a pace of a goal a game since he joined the Oilers. Lukajic has scored eight goals in his eight games since joining the Oilers on February 14th.
Next Up: The Oilers homestand continues tomorrow night against Wichita at 7:35. The first 1,000 fans will receive FREE Oilers t-shirts, courtesy of Creek Nation Casino. Oklahoma City is wrapping up a four game road trip tonight and returns home tomorrow to host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
