Sher-Wood CHL Player & Goaltender of the Month Announced

The Central Hockey League has today announced the recipients of the Sher-Wood CHL Player and Goaltender of the Month awards for February, 2006. Tulsa Oilers rookie left winger Jim Dahl has been named the Sher-Wood CHL Player of the Month after recording 24 points in 13 games while also registering a CHL-best +19 plus/minus rating. Bossier-Shreveport's Ken Carroll earns Sher-Wood Goaltender of the Month honors after posting a perfect mark of 8-0-0, a goals against average of 2.25 and a save percentage of .927 in February. Both players will receive custom designed leather jackets from Sher-Wood, the official stick, glove, pant and protective equipment supplier to the CHL.
All-Star Dahl, a strong candidate for CHL Rookie of Year selection, enjoyed a dominant and consistent month in bringing Tulsa back into playoff contention. He registered points in each of the Oilers 13 games, and didn't record a single game with a negative plus/minus rating. Selected as a Northern Conference All-Star for the 2006 CHL All-Star Game, Dahl leads all CHL rookies with 33 goals, 74 points, 13 power play goals and 4 shorthanded goals.
Carroll, also a Northern Conference All-Star this season, helped lead the Mudbugs to a record of 12-0-1 during February, winning eight contests himself to extend his personal winning streak to 12. He earned his CHL-best fourth shutout of the season with a 3-0 win at Fort Worth on February 4th, and is among CHL leaders in wins (20, T-5th), goals against average (2.31, 3rd) and save percentage (.921, 6th). Carroll earns Sher-Wood Goaltender of the Month honors for the second time this season, also named as the recipient for October.
