Force WR/LB Derek Lee named AFL Ironman of the Month

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - Georgia Force WR/LB Derek Lee earned AFL Ironman of the Month honors for April. This is Lee's third AFL award in two seasons. He was named AFL Ironman of the Week in Week 10 this year and in 2005 he was awarded AFL Rookie of the Month for May.
Last week in Georgia's, 55-20, win over Chicago, Lee recorded eight receptions for 108 yards and three touchdowns on offense and added three tackles and an interception on defense. He returned the interception 45 yards for a touchdown, capping off the Force's eighth win of the season.
For the Month of April, Lee registered 33 catches for 427 yards and eight touchdowns in five games. On defense, he has tallied seven tackles, two interceptions and one pass defense. In Week 10, Lee was awarded AFL Ironman of the Week for his performance in Georgia's, 61-29, victory at Austin. He recorded six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown through the air and added one rush for six yards on the ground. Lee added two tackles and an interception on defense.
The Force (8-6) will travel to New York to play the Dragons (9-5) on Saturday, May 6, at 7:00 p.m., in Nassau Coliseum.
