LUCKY 13: With a win this week, the Dallas Desperados would tie the 2002 San Jose SaberCats (13-2) for most wins in an AFL regular season. If the Desperados win their final two games (May 6 at Philadelphia, May 13 vs. New York) they will set a new record for most wins in a regular season with 14.

RECORD BREAKER: San Jose SaberCats QB MARK GRIEB leads the AFL with 4,276 passing yards. He is on pace (4,887) to break his own single-season record (4,796) set in 2005. Grieb needs seven pass completions for 2,100 career.

OL/DL JOE JACOBS of the San Jose SaberCats needs 0.5 sacks to become the fifth player in AFL history to record 40.0 career sacks.

ROOKIE SURPRISE: Austin Wranglers rookie OS DERRICK LEWIS has 1,260 receiving yards this season. San Jose SaberCats rookie WR/LB BEN NELSON has 1,200 receiving yards in nine starts for an average of 133.33 receiving yards per game. Lewis' single-season total ranks sixth all-time among AFL rookies, while Nelson's total ranks 10th. Lewis needs 113 more yards to break the current record held by TROY BERGERON (1,372) set in 2005, while Nelson needs 173 yards. Both players could pass Bergeron this week.

NOT YOUR AVERAGE JOE: Orlando Predators QB JOE HAMILTON needs 22 passing yards this week against the Kansas City Brigade to become the franchise's career leader. In his third season, Hamilton has 9,655 career passing yards and currently trails PAT O'HARA (1995-2000) on the Predators all-time list. Hamilton is also 118 passing yards shy of setting a new franchise single-season record with 3,622 yards, which would unseat JAY GRUDEN.

SAN JOSE MILESTONES: Several San Jose SaberCats are nearing career milestones. FB/LB PHIL GLOVER needs three rushing yards for 250 career. K BRIAN SCHMITZ needs two PAT for 500 career. WR/DB BARRY WAGNER needs two interceptions for 50 career and 19 receptions for 1,000 career. WR/DB CHARLES PAULEY needs 46 receiving yards for 1,000 career. WR/LB JAMES ROE needs 19 receiving yards for 6,700 career and 16 receptions to break the San Jose single-season record (116).

PASSING LAFRANCE: Tampa Bay Storm WR/LB LAWRENCE SAMUELS needs three touchdown receptions to pass GEORGE LAFRANCE (127) for second on the Storm's all-time list. Samuels is the Storm career leader in receptions (699), receiving yards (8,482), and tackles (375.0).

BLAZE OF GLORY: Utah Blaze OS SIAHA BURLEY is close to breaking the single-season expansion records for receptions (125) and touchdowns (42), and has already broken the record for receiving yards (1,630). These records were all set in 2001 by OS ROBERT GORDON of the Detroit Fury. Burley currently has 112 receptions, 1,644 yards, and 38 touchdowns, needing 14 receptions and five touchdowns to break the records.
