Los Angeles Avengers News Release
LOS ANGELES - Before Avenger fans took their seats to watch the San Jose SaberCats battle Los Angeles at STAPLES Center on Saturday night, they were able to donate non-perishable food items to the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank to help families in need.
Avenger fans brought over 400 pounds of food which will be able to help hundreds of families in the Los Angeles area.
"We know Avenger fans understand the importance of such an event and have opened their hearts by bringing canned food to STAPLES Center over the years," John Tamanaha Vice President of Communication said. "The Avengers are proud to host this event with the L.A. Regional Foodbank and look forward to doing it again next year."
Each Avenger fan that donated food was entered into a raffle to win four 2007 season tickets and an autographed football from the team.
For more information on how you can give the gift of food throughout the year, call the Los Angeles Foodbank at (323) 234-3030 or visit http://www.lafightshunger.org/.
