Crush's Floyd and Harrel earn AFL Player of the Month honors

DENVER - The Arena Football League announced today that Colorado Crush offensive specialist Damian Harrell and defensive specialist Rashad Floyd were named the league's Offensive Player of the Month and Defensive Player of the Month, respectively, for April of the 2006 season.

FLOYD (6-0, 180, Portland State), who is in his fifth AFL season, led the AFL for the month with 45.0 tackles and seven interceptions, one returned for a touchdown. He added five pass break-ups and a forced fumble. Floyd set a career-high with three interceptions at Grand Rapids on April 8. He was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week for Weeks 10-11 and currently leads the AFL in total tackles (116.0) and ranks second in interceptions (10). Colorado went 4-1 in April.

HARRELL (6-0, 200, Florida Stave), in his eighth AFL season, led all players with 56 receptions and 21 touchdowns for the month of April. He set a new AFL single-season receiving record with his 47th touchdown catch on April 28 against Orlando and became the sixth player in AFL history to pass 10,000 receiving yards. During the month, Harrell tied his career game-high of five receiving touchdowns three times and set new career game-high reception marks twice with 14 catches at Kansas City on April 16 and 15 catches vs. Orlando. He earned AFL Offensive Player of the Week in Weeks 12 and 14.
