Lineman Gurley Activated For Saturday Against Destroyers

TAMPA BAY - The five-time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm have activated lineman Buck Gurley off injured reserve, Head Coach and General Manager Tim Marcum announced today.

Gurley, a 6-foot-4, 300-pound graduate of the University of Florida, has suited up in eight games this season. The three-year AFL veteran has brought on a strong pass rush to date and has accumulated two tackles. The native of Quincy, FL won a Super Bowl ring with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2003.

The Storm have placed defensive specialist Jonathan Ordway and lineman Steve White on injured reserve. Ordway (PCL sprain) has suited up in 13-games this season and leads the team with 78.5 tackles. White (bursar sac) has suited up in two-games in his rookie season and has accumulated one tackle.

The Storm (7-7) will travel to Columbus, Ohio to face the Destroyers (7-7) on Saturday in the first of two road games to finish out the 2006 AFL season. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. (EST) from Nationwide Arena. The playoff scenario for the Storm is win their two remaining games combined with one Philadelphia Soul loss and the Storm have guaranteed themselves a trip to the playoffs for the 16th consecutive season, a league record. The game can be heard on the radio home of the five-time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm WDAE 620AM with Jack Harris (play-by-play) and Jason Dixon (analyst).
