Cleveland Force News Release
Force defender Omid Namazi has been named the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Defensive Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending February 15. The 38-year-old Namazi scored two points (goal, assist) and blocked seven shots as Cleveland went 1-1 last week. In a 5-3 loss in Philadelphia on Wednesday, Namazi blocked three shots. The former KiXX player/coach played a large role in Cleveland's 7-6 win over Dallas on Sunday, finishing with a goal, an assist, and four blocked shots. In 11 games with the Force, the native of Washington, DC, has scored six points (goal, five assists) and blocked 21 shots. Namazi has been a two-time All-League selection and the 2000-01 Defender of the Year. Omid joins forward Zoran Karic, goalkeeper Jim Larkin, defender Josh Timbers and as the other Force players to earn the MISL Weekly Honor. Karic earned the Offensive Player of the Week on January 19, Larkin earned Goalkeeper of the Week on two occasions. (October 27 and December 8) and Timbers was named the Defender of the Week on November 3.
TWO HATS IN ONE WEEK:
The Force as a team had three hat-tricks coming into last week and in two games two different players added to the hat-trick list. Forward Myles Stoddard was the first player to get the fourth team hat trick as he recorded all three goals for Cleveland at Philadelphia. The hat-trick marked the first of the season for Stoddard and his first as a member of the Force. Cleveland ended the week by adding its fifth team hat trick when Adauto Neto scored three goals including the game winning goal. The three goal performance was the second hat trick of the season for Neto.
RED ROSE GIVEAWAY:
The Cleveland Force and Rio Roses will host Red Rose Day on Sunday, February 22 as the Force takes on the defending MISL Champion and Eastern Division Baltimore Blast. The game is scheduled to begin at 3:05 p.m. and the first 1,500 female fans will be given one red rose courtesy of Rio Roses.
SECOND BOBBLEHEAD NIGHT:
The Cleveland Force and Huntington Bank will host the second bobblehead night featuring the defender John Ball on Sunday, March 14 as the Force takes on the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) Western Division Dallas Sidekicks at the Convocation Center at Cleveland State University. The game is scheduled to start at 7:05 p.m. and the first 2,500 fans age 14 and under will receive a complimentary John Ball Bobblehead courtesy of Huntington Bank.
TOUR D' FORCE:
The Force will be holding its third stage on the Tour D' Force at the Soccer Sportsplex in North Olmsted on Tuesday, March 16. The 60-minute training session will feature a full team practice and autograph session starting at 6:00 p.m. This is a perfect chance for fans to meet their favorite players and get autographs and pictures with them.

Directions to the Force Fitness Indoor Soccer Facility in Warrensville Heights: The facility is located across from Thistledown Race Track on Northfield Road. From the West: Take Route 480 East to Northfield Road Exit and take a left on Northfield. The soccer center will be a mile and half down on your right-hand side. From the East: Take 480 West to the Miles Road Exit and take a right onto Miles. Proceed to Northfield Road and take a right; the practice center will be a mile down on the right.
FORCE RADIO NETWORK:
Cleveland Force fans will be able to follow the club all season long on the Force Radio Network. All thirty-six regular season games, as well as all playoff games will be aired.
