Fargo Force News Release
Fargo got 27 saves from Boynton and two goals in the last 7:08 the third period gave the Force a 2-1 comeback win over Sioux City and 2 game sweep of the weekend.
Sioux City who started off the scoring with a goal five minutes and 20 seconds into period one. A Musketeer shot from the high slot ricocheted off a player and over the shoulder of Boynton giving Sioux City a 1-0 lead. The Musketeers maintained their one goal lead for 47 minutes, but the Force didn't give up.
Musketeer's goalie Alex Tracy was putting up a stone wall, until late in the 3rd, when Fargo finally got one past him. With only 7:08 remaining in regulation, and a single second after the Force powerplay ended Bear Hughes fired in his fourth goal of the season and second of the weekend, off a nice setup by Cody Monds.
With a little over four minutes remaining Matt Crasa batted in the game winning goal out of the air from close range, giving the Force a 2-1 lead. The Force held off the Musketeers from there to come away with the win and a 2-game sweep of the weekend, after winning Friday's game 6-2.
Fargo improves their record to 21-11-2, second overall in the USHL, and leaders of the Western Conference. The Force hit the road next weekend to Face off against Tri-City on Saturday at 7:05 PM!
