Lincoln Stars News Release
The Fargo Force scored five times in the first period to take the first game of a weekend tripleheader, 9-1, against the Lincoln Stars on Thursday night at Scheels Arena.
Reid Daavettila, Gavin Morrissey and Lee Parks all scored twice as Fargo (40-7-2-0) bounced back from dropping back-to-back games for the first this season last weekend. Lincoln (22-22-2-2) saw its four-game point streak come to an end as it lost in regulation for the first time since Feb. 23.
Matthew Maltais scored the Stars' lone goal by teaming up with Dashel Oliver to force a turnover. Maltais picked Michael LaStarza's pocket and scored his fifth goal of the season at the 13:36 mark of the second.
The two teams match up again Friday night at 7:05. Lincoln's next home games are Mar. 15-16 against the Chicago Steel and tickets can be purchased at lincolnstars.com.
