Force Fall to Blackhawks 3-1

The Force (3-4-0-1) were plagued by penalties in tonight's 3-1 loss to the Waterloo Black Hawks (5-4-0-1).

Cole Knuble wat the first to put points on the board with a partial breakaway goal just over 8 minutes into the first period. The breakout opportunity was created by a smart leading pass from Force captain Tyler Rollwagen. The Black Hawks tied it up just over four minutes later with a 3 on 2 chip in goal from Michael Lastarza. Shots on goal stayed close in the first with Waterloo leading 9-8.

The BlackHawks took the lead on their third powerplay of the game thanks to a bar down snipe from Tyler Kostelecky, his powerplay goals was assisted by Michael LaStarza and Jack Williams. With 1:11 remaining in the period Waterloo forward Mason McCormick gave the Black Hawks a 3-1 lead of a feed from Tyler Kostelecky. Despite having to fight off 3 Waterloo powerplays in the second, the Force led in SOG 12-5.

It was a scoreless third period as the Force found themselves with some good looks at the net but couldn't get anything past Black Hawks netminder, Jack Williams. Once again despite having to fend of a pair of powerplays Fargo outshot their opponents, this time 12-4.

The Force are back at it tomorrow for the final game of the weekend and Halloween Night at Scheels Arena! Puck Drop is at 6:05pm and tickets can be purchased via www.ticketmaster.com
