Fargo Force News Release
After going 0-2-1 in their 3 previous games, the Force entered tonight's tilt against the Stampede with something to prove; and prove it they did. The Force were dominant in tonight's 6-3 win in Sioux Falls. Big stops by the netminder Brennan Boynton and four unanswered goals from four different Force players all contributed to their New Year's Eve win.
While the Force dominated for most of the game it was the Stampede that struck first. A penalty called against Jeremy Davidson gave them a power play opportunity that they cashed in, giving them their only lead of the game. In the middle of period one Jacob Braccini put Fargo on the board, followed 14 seconds later by a goal from Matthew Crasa. The first period ended with a score of Fargo 2 Sioux Falls 1, shots in favor of the Force.
A little under three minutes into the second Erik Bargholtz scored the Force's third goal of the night on a two on one breakaway off a feed from Jeremy Davidson. Tristan Broz was the next to score for Fargo, knocking in Ryan Siedem's shot from the point. This gave Fargo a 4-1 lead, marking their fourth unanswered goal. Sioux Falls was finally able to take back some momentum after they scored a goal with a little under two minutes remaining, but Tyler Rollwagen took that momentum right back. He was able to deflect in a shot from Michael Suda regaining Fargo's three-point lead after two.
Period three saw a goal from each team. First JP Turner of Sioux Falls on a powerplay. Followed by Matt Crasa on an empty Sioux Falls net, his second goal of the game. Crasa was assisted by Ryan Richardson and Hudson Thornton. Giving Thornton a total of three assists on the night.
The Force and the Stampede face off again this Saturday, this time on Fargo's home ice. Puck drop at 6:05 pm. HAPPY NEW YEARS #BLACKnBLUE Family!
