Lake County Captains News Release
The Lake County Captains have announced that Classic Park will host its first ever football game on Friday, October 26 as the Eastlake North Rangers will take on the Willoughby South Rebels. The "Border Battle at Classic Park" will begin at 7 PM with gates opening at 5:30.
The baseball field at Classic Park will be transformed into a football field with one end zone in front of the first base dugout and the other end zone in front of the left field bleachers. This is a similar configuration to the 2011 game that was played at Wrigley Field between Northwestern and Illinois. Due to limited space behind the left field end zone, the game will be played in a similar fashion as the contest that was played at Wrigley Field in that the offensive team will switch directions on the field once they reach the 30 yard line while heading toward the bleachers.
Tickets for the game go on sale Friday, August 24 at the Classic Park box office, online at www.captainsbaseball.com or by phone at 440-954-WINS(9467). Reserved Grandstand tickets are only $8 in advance and $10 on the day of the game. Student tickets will be $5 in advance and can be purchased at the respective schools only. VIP party packages are available for both schools and are only $40 per person which will include preferred seating and a pre-game all-you-can-eat buffet at the ballpark. There are also a very limited number of Party Suites available for rent for this game and will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. For Party Suite information contact the Captains at 440-975-8085 x115.
