Flash Fall to BayHawks

OREM, UT - All five starters scored in double digits as the Erie BayHawks defeated the Utah Flash on Tuesday night. The Flash record now stands at 4-4 as they head to Idaho for a weekend series.

The Erie BayHawks dominated the majority of the game, never giving up the lead. The score at the end of the first half was 48-36.

The Flash coaching staff intend to take this loss as a learning experience and move on.

"We didn't have enough energy," Head Coach Kevin Young said. "We have to give Erie credit. They have tough players, and we should have come out with fire under our belt, like Erie did, after the first half. We'll take this loss as men, watch tape and learn from it."

The BayHawks, Christian Eyenga, led in the first quarter with 11 points and six rebounds. The Flash offensive struggle resulted in 13-36 (.361 percent) field goals. The first half's leading scorers for the Flash were Orien Greene and Brandon Costner with 10 points each. The Flash's leading rebounder was Bennet Davis with four in the first half.

The BayHawks came out aggressively resulting in seven steals and three blocked shots during the first half. The Flash contributed to their momentum by overturning the ball 11 times during the first half.

The BayHawks pulled away from the Flash during the third quarter scoring 31 points and solidifying their lead.

Utah's Brandon Costner led all scorers with 22 points, and seven rebounds. Ivan Johnson led the BayHawks in scoring with 20 points. Solomon Alabi and Christian Eyenga both had 11 rebound for Erie.

The Bayhawks had three players with double-double's. Ivan Johnson (20 pts., 10 reb.), Solomon Alabi (12 pts., 11 reb.) and Christian Eyenga (16 pts., 11 reb.).

The Flash travel to faceoff against the Idaho Stampede for a two-game weekend series on Dec. 10 and 11, both at 7:00 p.m. at the Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho.
