Bakersfield Sweeps Idaho at Home

BAKERSFIELD, December 6, 2010 - The Bakersfield Jam starting back-court of Jeremy Wise and Trey Johnson led the team to a 123-94 victory over the visiting Idaho Stampede. Jam were up by as many as 34 points in the game.

Idaho started the game on an 11-0 run, but Bakersfield made a run of their own and never looked back. The Jam were scorching hot tonight, shooting 49.3% from the field, 43.3% from downtown, making 13 three's in total, and 87% from the line. They also shared the ball, finishing with 29 assists as a team and pushed the ball up the floor for 11 fast break points. Defensively, Bakersfield blocked 17 of Idaho's shot attempts and forced 22 turnovers. Stampede kept themselves in the game by going after missed shots and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds and had 18 second chance points as team. They also outscored the Jam 44 points to 22 in the paint.

Wise had an almost perfect game, missing only 2 shots in the 4th quarter and hitting 5 three-pointers on the night. He finished the game with 29 points and 6 assists. Johnson had a double-double of 18 points and 11 assists. Forward Brandon Wallace contributed 16 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.

Every player on the Bakersfield roster scored tonight and the bench combined for 46 points, including Kenny Taylor's 15 points, hitting 3-5 behind the ark, Drew Naymick's double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Marqus Blakely's 12 points.

Idaho's leaders for the night included Carlos Wheeler and Dontell Jefferson who both finished with 18 points and had 8 rebounds each. Center Eric Boateng contributed a double-double of 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Bakersfield improves to 4-4 on the season and will face the Dakota Wizards on back-to-back nights, beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
