Flames Recall Defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon from Stockton

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon from the Stockton Heat of the American Hockey League. The Flames also announced that they placed Ladislav Smid on injured reserve.

Wotherspoon, Calgary's second round pick (57th overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, has played 40 games for Stockton this season recording four assists and 10 penalty minutes. The Surrey, BC native played 15 games for Calgary over the last two seasons, recording four assists, and also skated in six games for the Flames in last year's NHL postseason.
