The Capitols began Phase II of the Draft by picking Blaine, Minnesota native right wing Luke Notermann in the first round. The Capitols completed their 45-man roster through 13-rounds of the Phase II Draft.

"We had a very successful draft this year, and have brought in some really good hockey players for our Capitols team," said Capitols Chairman Ryan Suter. "We look forward to seeing them in action at camp in June, and suited up for Madison in the Fall!"
