Five Run Seventh Propels Fire Frogs Past Miracle

FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Florida Fire Frogs used a five run seventh inning to defeat the Fort Myers Miracle, 8-2, on Tuesday night at Hammond Stadium.

Trailing 2-1 in the seventh, the Fire Frogs sent 10 batters to the plate. After loading the bases with nobody out, Drew Lugbauer drew a bases loaded walk to tie the game. Following a strikeout, Shean Michel walked with the bases loaded and Florida grabbed a 3-2 lead. Riley Delgado followed with a two-run single before the Fire Frogs tacked on another run on a wild pitch.

Florida added two runs in the eighth on Michel and Jefrey Ramos RBI.

For the second straight night, Fort Myers raced out to an early lead. With runners at first and second and one out in the bottom of the first, Ryan Jeffers laced a single into left. Lewin Diaz came around to score when Jefrey Ramos bobbled the ball. The Miracle added a run in the second on a Royce Lewis RBI single.

Blayne Enlow started for the Miracle and allowed three runs (two earned) in six plus innings of work. The right-hander allowed two hits.

The Miracle bullpen combined to allow five runs in three innings of work. Johan Quezada surrendered three runs while Tanner Howell yielded two runs in his 2019 debut. Joe Record did not allow a run in 1.2 innings of work.

The series continues on Wednesday afternoon in Fort Myers. First pitch is slated for 1:00 p.m.
