Seattle Reign FC News Release
TACOMA - Five OL Reign players have been called up to their national teams for friendly matches during the April FIFA international window.
OL Reign forward Megan Rapinoe has again been called in to represent the United States, giving the two-time FIFA Women's World Cup winner the opportunity to add to her 173 caps and 57 goals for the U.S. WNT. Rapinoe and the U.S. squad will head to Europe for two matches: first against Sweden in Stockholm on Sunday, April 10, followed by a rematch of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup quarterfinalists, in Le Havre, France on Tuesday April 13.
Forward Nicole Momiki has been called in to represent Japan, where she has made 33 senior team appearances and scored 10 goals. Momiki and the Japan WNT will face off against Paraguay on Thursday, April 8 and Panama on Saturday, April 10.
Midfielders Jess Fishlock and Quinn have been called in to represent Wales and Canada respectively. Fishlock has the most caps of any Welsh player in history, at 120. Quinn has made 60 appearances for Canada, scoring 5 goals. The two will match up on Friday, April 9, when Canada take on Wales at Cardiff City Stadium. Wales will then face Denmark on Tuesday, April 13 at Leckwith Stadium in Cardiff.
Quinn and the Canadian WNT will then make a short trip to Stoke-on-Trent for a match against England on Tuesday, April 13 at Bet365 Stadium. Quinn will battle OL Reign goalkeeper Karen Bardsley, who returns to the England WNT. Prior to the match against Canada, Bardsley and the Lionesses will first take on France at Stade Michel d'Ornano in Caen, France on Friday, April 9.
The United States, Japan, Canada, and England (as part of Team GB) will all participate in the 2021 Olympic Games in Tokyo, which is slated to begin on Wednesday, July 21 at the Sapporo Dome in Sapporo, Japan.
