Five Isotopes Promoted to Rockies as Rosters Expand

With Major League rosters expanding, five Isotopes have been promoted to the Colorado Rockies. Pitchers Yency Almonte and Harrison Musgrave along with catcher Tom Murphy, infielder Pat Valaika and outfielder Noel Cuevas will join the Rockies in San Diego.

Almonte, 24, has been used as a reliever since returning to the Isotopes on Aug. 9. In seven games out of the bullpen with the Isotopes since his return, Almonte allowed four runs over 7.0 innings. Overall, the right-hander posted a 3-5 record to go along with a 5.56 ERA with Albuquerque in 2018.

Musgrave, 26, appeared in eight games with the Isotopes (3 GS) is 2018. The southpaw posted a 5.40 ERA (10er/16.2ip) on the year in Triple-A.

Murphy, 27, slashed .255/.333/.568 this season for the Isotopes to go along with 17 home runs and 49 RBI in 64 games.

Valaika, 25, appeared in 11 games since returning to the Isotopes in mid-August. The infielder hit .250 (11-for-44) with three home runs and four RBI after he returned from the Rockies. Overall, Valaika slashed .216/.252/.683 with eight home runs and 20 RBI in Triple-A.

Cuevas, 26, appeared in 44 games with the Isotopes in 2018. The outfielder hit .331 to go along with five home runs, 29 RBI, a .390 on-base percentage and .538 slugging percentage.
