On Monday, July 1 Burlington Bees first baseman/designated hitter Connor Fitzsimons was named Midwest League Player of the Week for the period from June 24 to June 30. For the week Fitzsimons averaged .429 on 6 for 14 hitting, had 2 doubles and a triple. The Connecticut native also smashed two home runs, drove in seven runs, scored three times and walked three times. His on base percentage was .556. His on base plus slugging was 1.143.

Fitzsimons played four years for Central Connecticut State from 2013 to 2016. In his final year he was selected to the Northeast Conference All Conference Team.

The Angels signed him as a free agent in 2016. He split time between the Orem Owlz and Burlington in 2018.

Fitzsimons is the second Bees player selected as POW for the league. Infielder D. C. Arendas was given the award for the week May 6 through May 12.
