New Hampshire Fisher Cats News Release

Manchester, NH- The New Hampshire Fisher Cats scored six times in the bottom of the eighth inning to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 10-5 rout of the New Britain Rock Cats Tuesday night at Gill Stadium. Jose Umbria's suicide squeeze bunt scored Aaron Hill from third base to break up a 4-4 tie, and Mike Snyder put the game out of reach with a three-run home run, his fourth of the season.

The Fisher Cats won their 10th consecutive home game and sixth straight overall to remain a half game behind first-place Binghamton in the Eastern League's Northern Division.

The bizarre eighth inning included a wild pitch uncorked by losing pitcher Jon Pridie (3-5) on the fourth ball of an intentional walk to Justin Singleton, allowing Tyrell Godwin to score the tying-run from third base. Godwin (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 3 R) also hit a two-run home run in the second inning, an inning in which Dominic Rich (2-for-4, 2 RBI, 2 R) connected for his fifth homer of the season, both against New Britain starter Scott Baker.

New Hampshire (44-33) built a 4-0 lead after two innings, only to watch New Britain (35-42) rally for a 5-4 advantage. Garrett Jones hit a three-run home run off Fisher Cat starter Josh Banks in the fourth inning, helping New Britain break out of a collective 0-for-45 slump that dated back to the third inning of Monday's opening game of a doubleheader. The Rock Cats took their only lead with two more runs in the sixth inning.

Andy Torres (3-0) recorded the win out of the bullpen, allowing no runs on two hits in two innings. Pridie allowed three runs on one hit in 1/3 of an inning.

New Hampshire looks to win its fourth straight game of the series when right-hander Cam Reimers (7-3, 2.69) pitches against New Britain righty Henry Bonilla (5-5, 5.29). Gametime is 7:05pm. Coverage begins at 6:35pm on the WKXL Fisher Cats Radio Network, available on-line at www.fishercatsradio.com and www.wkxlradio.com.
