Janssen (1-0), in winning his debut before a crowd of 5,962, did not walk a batter, while striking out eight.
New Hampshire (46-41) took a 1-0 lead in the last of the first. Center fielder Miguel Negron led off with a walk and stole second. He went to third on a groundout and scored on first baseman Clint Johnston's double.
Right fielder Maikel Jova led off the last of a second with a base hit, and scored on Cannon's homer to right off Portland starter and loser Charlie Zink (5-3). Cannon, just promoted from Single-A Dunedin, also doubled.
Third baseman Rob Cosby (2-for-3, RBI) hit his 12th home run, a solo shot leading off the eighth against Portland reliever Pete Fisher to make it 4-0.
